HISTORIEN OM PILGÅRDS I BOGE
Den gamla gotlandsgården Pilgårds är en av de äldsta bebyggelserna i Boge på norra Gotland. Den består av sju byggnader från de senaste fyra seklen. Nere på gården står det äldsta huset, det s.k. grishuset som är från 1600-talet och byggt med bulteknik.
Smedjan och brygghuset är uppförda på 1700-talet, mangårdsbyggnaden 1842 och ladan och övre flygeln kring 1890. Gårdens alla murar, staket och grindar inramar de olika ”gårdarna” såsom köksträdgården, blomsterträdgården, fruktträdgården och storgården.
THE HISTORY OF PILGÅRDS IN BOGE
The old Gotland farm Pilgårds is one of the oldest settlements in Boge on northern Gotland. It consists of seven buildings from the last four centuries. Down on the farm stands the oldest house, so-called the pig house, which is from the 17th century and built with bulk technology.
The smithy and the brewery were erected in the 18th century, the manor house 1842 and the barn and upper wing around 1890. The courtyard's all walls, fences and gates frame the various "farms" such as the kitchen garden, the flower garden, the orchard and the farmyard.

På gården finns flera olika verkstäder för allehanda hantverk som behövs på en lantgård. I smedjan smiddes verktyg, spikar, krokar delar till seldon mm. I snickeriet gjordes allt från träskor till möbler och alla maskiner fungerade med fottrampning som bandsåg, pelarborr, metalls- och träsvarv.
Den sista ättlingen till gårdens förra ägare Jacob Jacobsson var också duktig på att gjuta varpor.
I smedjan gjöts dessa efter att en modell utformats i trä eller gips. Hans bror Kalle var intresserad av att fotografera så han har dokumenterat livet på gården..
On the farm there are several different workshops for all kinds of crafts that are needed on a farm. In the forge, tools, nails, hooks parts were forged for seldon etc. In the carpentry, everything was made from clogs to furniture and all machines worked with foot pedaling as a band saw, column drill, metal and wood cuttings.
The last descendant of the farm's former owner Jacob Jacobsson was also good at molding warps.
In the forge, these were cast after a model was made in wood or plaster. His brother Kalle was interested in photographing so he has documented life on the farm.

Gården har skonats från omfattande renoveringar och har kvar sin karaktär av en tidstypisk 1800-tals gård för lantbruk med djurhållning samt lite fiske- och skogsbruk. För hundra år sedan var det säkert full fart bland ankor, höns, hästar, kor och grisar blandat med gotländska bönder, pigor och barn i alla åldrar.
The farm has been spared from extensive renovations and has retained its character of a typical 19th-century farm for farming with animal husbandry and little fishing and forestry. A hundred years ago it was certainly full speed among ducks, chickens, horses, cows and pigs mixed with Gotland farmers, maids and children of all ages.

EN NY ERA
1991 fick gården nya ägare efter att ha ägts av släkten Jacobsson sedan 1500-talet. Ett omfattande renoveringsarbete inleddes. Mangårdsbyggnaden renoverades med omsorg om det gamla, smedjan och bulhuset renoverades från totalförfall, och i ladan inrymdes produktionslokaler.
A NEW ERA
In 1991, the farm got new owners after being owned by the Jacobsson family since the 16th century. Extensive renovation work began. The manor house was renovated with care for the old, the smithy and the bulb house was renovated from total decay, and in the barn was housed production premises.
På gården fanns gott om barn och längst till höger sitter Jacob som blev den sista i släkten Jacobsson på gården. Bredvid honom sitter broder Kalle. Ca 1910.
